INTERCAMPUS MATHS OLYMPIAD

On Thursday 24th October, three Year 4 students travelled to Melbourne to compete in the Intercampus Maths Olympiad. The high achieving maths students were Feyza Engin, Ayaan Ahmed and Asher Baig. Hamza Al Zubaidi was the back-up competitor. These students all trained, practised and worked very hard in preparation for the competition. They spent many hours at home and school revising maths topics, working out equations and studying.

The competition was presented in the format of the program Kahoot and had 30 questions broken up as below:

Round 1: Fluency Questions
Round 2: 10 Mental Maths Questions
Round 3: 5 Worded Problems Questions
Round 4: 10 Multi Step Problem Solving Questions.

The three students were very confident and worked as a team answering the questions.

They received 3rd position out of the four campuses. We are very proud of their hard work and efforts in preparing for and competing in this competition. Well done to all of you!
